• PPCT Defensive Tactics System
  
  The Pressure Point Control Tactics (PPCT) Defensive Tactics System course is internationally recognized because of its unique system design approach as one of the first subject control systems to adopt tactical, legal, and medical research. This 32 hour course is broken down into key blocks of instruction, controlling low level resistance with finger tip touch pressure to nerve pressure points and controlling high level resistance through a defensive counter strike and baton which creates motor dysfunctions and controlled stuns. Instruction also includes Handcuffing, Collapsible Baton and Weapon Retention techniques. All of the techniques within the system have been tactically, legally, and medically researched making it defendable in court. The application of these techniques to an individual who is demonstrating passive or defensive resistance is highly effective regardless the size or strength level of the officer.

  This course is designed to provide a User Certification for Defensive Tactics System from PPCT and is presented by Certified Instructors. This is an outstanding foundation and set of skills for both new and veteran Security/Law Enforcement Personnel that can be used alone or in conjunction with other Less Than Lethal and Use of Force protocols. It is also well suited for current or prospective Prison/Detentions staff, private industry professionals, and Law Enforcement Volunteers. PPCT has long been recognized as a primary source of content for international and Canadian programs and represents a large part of the curriculum taught at the Ontario Police College. • HBA Predictive Profiling
  
  HBA Predictive Profiling is part of our Investigator’s Toolbox within the Security Sciences Program. HBA Predictive Profiling is the process of assessing situation and behaviour to detect the potential for inappropriate criminal behavior, allowing for deployment of procedures required to eliminate these threats.HBA Predictive Profiling comes into play as organizations recognize that detecting threats starts long before the theft occurs, employees help themselves to company product, bribes are taken or a terrorist conducts his business. This course aims to challenge students to think outside the box and place themselves in the role of the adversary. This is achieved through the knowledge gained in understanding the conduct of a threat assessment of a situation, a person, an object or a behavior in the context of the criminal or terrorist method of operation. Learning is enhanced with video simulations and interactive exercises.


• HBA Statement Analysis
  
  HBA Statement Analysis is part of our Investigator’s Toolbox within the Security Sciences Program. HBA Statement Analysis is the process of analyzing written or verbal statements to identify the potential for inappropriate criminal behavior including lying which ultimately can assist in guiding questioning during interviewing and interrogation. Statement Analysis has a wide area of application and is currently being used by law enforcement, private investigators, private industry and military organizations throughout the world. Our training program is ideal for a wide audience from the suspecting spouse to companies conducting internal investigations of theft and fraud, all the way to law offices building cases. This introductory course aims to challenge students to think outside the box and place themselves in the role of the adversary. Use of these techniques can dramatically reduce the time required for investigations. Analyzing the written statements does not require interaction with the subject or even knowledge of the case. Learning is enhanced with live simulations and interactive exercises.


• Human Behaviour Analysis (Effective Communication) (4 hour workshop)

How do you effectively develop communication skills within your trade? STS has designed a program that will enable you to more effectively communicate, to avoid confrontation. A skill that is required for every security related field. Paving the Road is a series of programs designed by STS to empower people through knowledge. Paving the Road to Effective Communication "Human Behaviour Analysis for Security Professionals" is currently available as a one day workshop. This program is intended to help Security professionals of all backgrounds, develop personal communications skills to minimize the chance of conflict. This will be accomplished by recognizing your own personality as well as your potential opponents. These are the building blocks to recognizing the signs and symptoms of "fight or flight".
